Last year, on the end of November. Untuk pertama kalinya gue terbang sendiri dan jauh. Jakarta-Hamburg sendiri! 18 hours flight. Sendiri itu bukan masalah takut nyasar atau takut ga sampe nya. Tapi, 18 hours flight alone is damn boring. You have no one to talk to. You have no one to play games (maybe) with. So yeah, I nailed this long flight alone!
Gue naik Emirates. Which I have to transit di Dubai. Flight Jakarta-Dubai is 8 hours long. Setelah pamit sama yang nganter dan bersinetron-sinetron ria sebentar di luar Soekarnohatta Int. Airport, Gue akhirnya masuk and go through the immigration and landed on chair in the waiting room. My flight scheduled on 00:45 in the morning. Midnight flight supposed to be the convenient way to fly. Because you just need to sleep and when you wake up, voila! you are there. Tapi pada kenyataan nya ngga saudara-saudara!
Gue boarding, naro koper dan ransel yang beratnya nauzubillah and sat down waiting for the plane to take off. As the plane began to move, I burst into tears (sinetron). It was very hard for me to leave. But I did anyway. My expectation when the plane is already take off, I supposed to sleep. Nah, I can not sleep! I spent first 3 hour watching Indonesian movie (why?). Later on I sleep. I sleep quite long. as I woke up the sun hasn't rise and I have no idea where am I until I saw the map on the screen. And it's time for breakfast! It was 5 in the morning in middle east. When the sun rise, my first impression was "****! I'm above the Desert". Through the window you can see white clouds in the blue sky and lots of sand! It was couple hours before landing in Dubai. The meal was fine. I love any food, so there was no problem with food :D
Grandma Geldener's Apfelkuchen Recipe

1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
Topping:
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons white flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
1.Preheat oven to 350°F.
2.Mix 1 1/4 cup flour, baking powder, 2 tsp sugar, and salt and sift once.
3.Cut 1/2 cup butter into dry mix with a pastry blender to pea size.
4.In a small bowl, beat egg with 2 T milk and add to dry mix.
5.Mix thoroughly and pat dough into a greased or oiled 9x13-inch baking dish.
6.Pare and core apples.
7.Cut into thin wedge slices and place on dough in rows until covered. We would cover the thin end of one apple with the thick end of the other.
8.Dot apples with 2 T butter and mix 3/4 cup sugar, 1 1/2 Tbs flour and cinnamon together.
9.Spread dry topping over dotted apples, and bake in oven for 30-45 minutes, until golden brown.
