It's just a place.
Aku rindu berada disana.
Happy Fasting everyone!
Ramadhan this episodes, I will spend it in a totally different place. And also in totally different time zone! As we all know, right now I am staying in Hamburg with the time zone +01:00 CET. So Indonesia and Malaysia will start fasting 6 hours earlier than us here. But that is not really the problem. The problem is, that right now in Germany is Summer! The day is longer than The Night. Yes, I am fasting 6 hours longer that you guys in Indonesia or Malaysia. So when you guys are already eat Sahur, I'm just breakfasting here. Well, it is not a problem actually, it is a challenge! I have tried to fast before, and it was okay. 19 hours fasting is not a problem! I can do it!
The feeling?
Totally different. Thanks to my calendar's alert. He told me just now that tomorrow is Ramadhan. I almost completely forget. They don't have any Dates' ads, Sarong's ad or Syrup's Ad for breakfasting as a sign that Ramadhan is around the corner. It is kind of dull and boring here. Sadly, I have to face it.
So, Happy Fasting everyone!
Ramadhan Mubarak!
Finally, I step on the ground again!
After so many months not occupied by anything, finally I decided to be busy! I enrolled my self into some online course from University world wide. The courses are interesting. And I can choose whatever I want to learn. So it is basically a subject that taught in University, but they put it online for free. Yeay! It also has assessment, quiz and grading. I feel like I am attending Open University. I learn from home, I did the assessment from home. Submit it online. It was just great! I love it.
My current subject is Andy Warhol. I really love all of his works. The Monroe's, Banana painting, Campbell's Soup can, and etc. I love the way he plays with color. I learned about his backgrounds and history. The one that disappointed me is, that he is gay. The course is from University of Edinburgh. The Lecturer's accent is love. I've done 1st assessment which is very cool! and the 3rd week quiz.
I have enrolled in another class, about fantasy in life! Cool huh? It begins in three weeks. I am very happy, that I learn something again.
PEOPLE, AFIFA NOW HAS A LIFE!!
7:30 pm. Hamburg, DE.
Sometimes, we feel like that is the best way to escape life. Life that goes as what we do not want it to be. But, being drunk is not a gateway. Being drunk only forgetting what we have at a very short moment. Not solving the problem we have. The next morning you get up, the problem is still there.
Dia yang selama ini ku nanti
Membawa sejuk, memanja rasa
Dia yang selalu ada untukku
Bersamanya jalan lebih terang
Berdua kita hadapi dunia
Kau milikku ku milikmu kita satukan tuju
Bersama arungi derasnya waktu
Kau milikku, ku milikmu
Bersamanya jalan lebih terang
Berdua kita hadapi dunia
Kau milikku ku milikmu kita satukan tuju
Banyak cobaan untuk kisah cinta kita
Jangan cepat menyerah
Kau punya aku, ku punya kamu, selamanya akan begitu
Berdua kita hadapi dunia
Kau milikku ku milikmu kita satukan tuju
Bersama arungi derasnya waktu
Kau jiwa yang selalu aku puja..
-Tulus
Last year, on the end of November. Untuk pertama kalinya gue terbang sendiri dan jauh. Jakarta-Hamburg sendiri! 18 hours flight. Sendiri itu bukan masalah takut nyasar atau takut ga sampe nya. Tapi, 18 hours flight alone is damn boring. You have no one to talk to. You have no one to play games (maybe) with. So yeah, I nailed this long flight alone!
Gue naik Emirates. Which I have to transit di Dubai. Flight Jakarta-Dubai is 8 hours long. Setelah pamit sama yang nganter dan bersinetron-sinetron ria sebentar di luar Soekarnohatta Int. Airport, Gue akhirnya masuk and go through the immigration and landed on chair in the waiting room. My flight scheduled on 00:45 in the morning. Midnight flight supposed to be the convenient way to fly. Because you just need to sleep and when you wake up, voila! you are there. Tapi pada kenyataan nya ngga saudara-saudara!
Gue boarding, naro koper dan ransel yang beratnya nauzubillah and sat down waiting for the plane to take off. As the plane began to move, I burst into tears (sinetron). It was very hard for me to leave. But I did anyway. My expectation when the plane is already take off, I supposed to sleep. Nah, I can not sleep! I spent first 3 hour watching Indonesian movie (why?). Later on I sleep. I sleep quite long. as I woke up the sun hasn't rise and I have no idea where am I until I saw the map on the screen. And it's time for breakfast! It was 5 in the morning in middle east. When the sun rise, my first impression was "****! I'm above the Desert". Through the window you can see white clouds in the blue sky and lots of sand! It was couple hours before landing in Dubai. The meal was fine. I love any food, so there was no problem with food :D
Grandma Geldener's Apfelkuchen Recipe
Servings:

2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
Topping:
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons white flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
1.Preheat oven to 350°F.
2.Mix 1 1/4 cup flour, baking powder, 2 tsp sugar, and salt and sift once.
3.Cut 1/2 cup butter into dry mix with a pastry blender to pea size.
4.In a small bowl, beat egg with 2 T milk and add to dry mix.
5.Mix thoroughly and pat dough into a greased or oiled 9x13-inch baking dish.
6.Pare and core apples.
7.Cut into thin wedge slices and place on dough in rows until covered. We would cover the thin end of one apple with the thick end of the other.
8.Dot apples with 2 T butter and mix 3/4 cup sugar, 1 1/2 Tbs flour and cinnamon together.
9.Spread dry topping over dotted apples, and bake in oven for 30-45 minutes, until golden brown.
